Can someone please help me out here? I live in an apartment and have and pay for a gigabit connection and lately I've only been getting 70mbps. I pretty much only use wifi, the only ethernet is for my PS4. I've tried manually changing the channel to a less crowded one in my router settings, but with no luck.

If you're using 2.4ghz, then thats your problem. Wifi inherently suffers poor performance, especially in congested RF space. 5ghz gives a much wider space, albeit at a sacrifice or range/distance, but is much much more resilient to RF interference. You will almost never get even close to 1 gig on 2.4..  you will be lucky if you get more than 200-300 mbps in a perfect environment.

My router outputs both 2.4 and 5ghz, so that's what I'm connected to most of the time. Used to get up to 700mbps but not anymore, nothing changed that I know of

Run WiFi Analyzer (from MS Store) and post the channel output from the 'Analyze' page for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

Unfortunately, in an apartment environment, I expect there to be a lot of interference from other WiFi sources.

What is the make/model of your wireless router/AP? Does anything use WiFi 6/6e? What are your wireless settings?
