Solid _ no post

Recently I hav done a build and then later installed a hard drive. I decided to put in this new HDD however when posts has a solid underscore. My first idea was no vailid boot drive and so i checked the cables too see if the SSD had a connection to the mobo and it was fine. I am about to reset the cmos but like i dont want to because i will have so much work to do in order for that to get done. The machine is pretty much brand new. Does anyone have any ideas
