Streamdeck VLC remote error

Hi

i have an elgato streamdeck and trying to connect vlc to it via vlc remote add in for streamdeck, i entered the LUA settings in VLC advanced preferences to localhost, port:8080 under LUA under Main interface, but whenever i press a play/pause key on stream deck for vlc remote, it says the status to be “error connecting to vlc server”

Any help is highly appreciated
