Hello!

Currently using Astro A50s gen 3 on my ps5 land looking at going down the wired route!聽

Would like to try and get a set up so I can use the headset for PS5 audio and party chat and 聽PS5 Audio / Discord PC so I can can get the best of both worlds 馃榿

Could a dac help with this?聽

I don鈥檛 mind having a headset that requires an attachable mic.

Can anyone point me in the right direction please 馃榿

Thank you and take care.

It doesn't look like your Astro headset has a wired option so in that case a DAC would add nothing.聽 Even if it had a wired option it would do next to nothing for it.

If you want to go wired you would need an entirely new setup so far as I know.

*the reason I say a dac would provide no use is that your wireless headset is an all in one package, it's a wireless transmitter DAC Amp and headphones with a mic along for the ride too.聽 Everything is an ecosystem that is supposed to be designed to work together and trying to replace one item in the chain would provide little improvement if even possible.

Are you saying that you want a new setup that will work with PS5 And PC?聽 If that's the case I would just use your Astro for your PS5 and decide on a budget for the wired solution on your PC.聽 The real benefit that wired get's you is either decreased price for the same performance or increased performance from going piecemeal at a higher budget, both of which lose convenience.聽 Typically for the budget a headset is hard to match because everything is designed to work together and come at a lower cost.聽 However they can't compete with actual audiophile grade components with a vmoda or mod mic attached to it.聽 Individual pieces is a rabbit hole that has virtually no limit on budget, however there is still bang for the buck options that will beat most headsets.

All I'm aware of for compatibility on聽PS5 equipment would be all in one solutions, meaning no dac or amp and requiring easy to power headphones.

Audio go Brrrrrr

Thank you for the detailed reply!聽

yeah I鈥檓 looking at a new wired set up if possible.

the idea is - I would like to be able to get my sound via the PS5 and chat / hear my fiends on discord.

any idea how I could do this if possible?

thanks again!聽

I would honestly just have to guess, but my best guess is no.聽 I highly doubt that any wireless gaming headset can accept two forms of input

*I mean, I guess there is some possibility with capture devices if you were to capture your PS5 on the PC, kind of like a remote desktop solution then everything would be going through your PC but I'd think that could be unplayable.聽 Streaming and capture is something I know very little about

Audio go Brrrrrr

something like this mixer?聽then you can put different inputs together at different volumes, you would probably need these 1/4" adapters

That would allow you to put more than one audio source together but I'm pretty sure you would need to have only one of them take the mic input

*I just googled that, I have no use with any of these products and you may find something more fitting

Audio go Brrrrrr
