Thermal pad installation

Trying to see if replacing all thermal stuff on my R390 helps with crashing issues. 

 

I've started placing them on, but 1 side doesn't seem to want to peel off. Used these : https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ek-water-blocks-thermal-pad-f-1-5mm-120x16mm-wc-921-ek.html

using 3.5 W/mK pads is a bit pointless IMO, there is hardly any point in cutting them into such small pieces, three long stripes are much easier to pull off, try to take foil from that side that sticks more first next time...

 

anyway, use hair dryer to heat them up a bit, so you can take the blue foil off, try to separate it with stanley knife (wash it first to make sure that there isn't any oil residue) once you have it going just press thermal pad to the package a bit and pull the foil

Thanks, I got some tweezers and with some gentle coaxing the top layer did come off. Just one of the small ones in particular wasn't playing. Now for the paste and a prayer!
