Im trying to RAID 2 M.2 ssds (none purchased yet), but when I go into BIOS, the boot ssd (m.2) is not there when I try to raid it (detected for everything else), it only shows my 2TB hard drive.

It says I can raid HDDs, but can I raid ssds too? and why isnt the boot ssd showing up, or is it intentional to prevent data loss?

So you're trying to run 2 M.2 SSDs that you don't have yet?
That's your problem - you can't run RAID on air.
If you do have them, please don't do hardware raid. Please do software RAID - it's much easier to set up.

PLEASE STOP [Killing] ME I WILL GIVE Y OU ANOTHER DEAL.

What system? Full specs?

What ssds?

Is this your boot drive?

I have a Gaming X Ax Z490 board with an intel core i5-10400 and GTX 1660

it will be 2 Samsung 970 SSDS on RAID by storage spaces. (Not here yet)

I have 1 ssd in my pc, a 970 evo.

I just need to know if the boot ssd doesn’t show up on “storage spaces” on purpose so I cant raid it with a 2nd drive if I wanted to reset it.

I worded what I previously said improperly, sorry!

Storage spaces can't be used on boot drives. But it will work with the non boot drives your adding

Id just use a single drive for boot. If you need more sapace id use them as 2 separate drives or get a single larger drives.

Also your not really gaining any speed here, as your limited by the dmi here.

RAID in the BIOS only shows the drives you can RAID on, meaning you need another drive in addition to the one currently in the machine.  It isn't showing the boot drive since it isn't eligible yuet without a partner drive.

That's how I think the BIOS RAID setup works.  I did that with mine and only the 1TB drives showed.

Once you set an m.2 slot to be used as RAID it disappears from the "normal" storage system, and has to be assigned to a volume in the RAID manager section of the BIOS. But you can't create a volume until you have all the drives you want to create it with.
