Hello to all, about a year ago my pc started to freeze for 1 to 2 seconds and shut off completly and then restart. It started after 3 months ish after I bought a new GPU. Connecting video cable to motherboard seemed to fix it, but sometimes even if I disconnect the PSU from its power cable and connecting it back on seems to fix it for another day or week or so. sometimes it happens in games and when its shutting down it takes less than 20 minutes or so to shutdown again. I checked temps, they were fine, I reinstalled windows, I ran memtest86, I bought a new PSU and its still crashing. Idk what to do anymore. opening the case will take a couple of extra minutes for it to crash. It appears to crash randomly. or when I start a heavy program, or opening back a heavy program, and stuff like that.

Can you guys please help me? Im already kind of frustrated

16gb ddr3 ram

GTX 1060 6gb

CX550 PSU

2tb of hdd storage

What are you using to check the cpu/gpu/mobo temps?

What does Event Viewer have to say, specifically under the System subsection, anything of note?

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

GPUz for GPU and bios for CPU temps. I didnt check mobo temps because I didnt see any program that can tell me temps in mb. Event viewer doesn't show anything because I dont get bsod's, just freezes and shutdowns

GPUTemp and CoreTemp will sit resident in the taskbar and show you temps in realtime.

Sounds like failing hardware if you ask me.

If it's not the GPU or PSU, then the mobo is next to be suspect

Do you know any software that can check failing mobo or GPU?

Some stress tests can be run, if they fail, then that will help point to a problem.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/19792

Prime95 can also stress test things.
