First build need Help

Budget (including currency): 700$USD for system

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Zoomtext, 3D modeling, Civilization, Anno, Indie and older games 

Other detail I was really hoping to be able to use the integrated graphics until gpu prices stabilize. I still need to get a monitor with a large screen but 60fps is fine. I am upgrading from a 9 yr old Dell laptop that is on its last legs. I was going to go to micro center w.here the cpu is currently 189.99 but now I’m not sure about the upcoming intel 11th gen. This is my first build so any advice would be helpful.

I assume that 3D modeling is multi-core, and according to benchmarks, the 10600K is better compared to the 11th gen processor.

If you do plan to upgrade in the future, then I'd see the sense in going for a 750W PSU, although I wouldn't recommend the current PSU you're using. I'd suggest switching it to either a Cooler Master MWE Gold, or a RM750W.
One last thing. I'm unsure if the motherboard will fit in the budget, so if you could stretch out the budget and fit the motherboard, then you're good to go.

Thanks, I will switch the power supply to the cooler master MWE.  The motherboard is about 211 at Newegg with a 10 rebate. I just picked an ATX board with onboard WiFi is there anything better or cheaper?

Ignore @Nena Trinity's RAM suggestion. Next to zero difference between 3200 MHz and 3600 MHz RAM, especially since you are on Intel. Also don't worry about 11th gen, it really doesn't look all that good, and the 10600K is going to be just fine. The iGP is shit, and you aren't going to be doing any productivity apps (like modeling) on the iGP, at least not efficiently to any degree. But even Ryzen APUs are hard to find and aren't fantastic either. 

 

If you can actually find these items in stock at these prices, and you are going to save up another $400-800 dollars for a GPU over the next few months, then not a bad build.

Actually that is false, any game that is CPU bound or hell single-core bound if its one of "those" games the RAM speed actually helps, even more so if its dual-rank or has 4 sticks of single of RAM rather than two single rank ones...

A noticeable difference? Or a minor change in frame times that nobody but the hardcore enthusiasts like you and me will notice. Save the OP some time and just let him roll with his current RAM kit.

OP did say "indie titles" those can be so poorly made they barely hit 30fps and can change it from barely playable to playable! Also think about years from now maybe other more demanding indie games comes along also... And the games I see here actually are to my best knowledge mostly CPU bound...

Didn't answer my question, very few CPU-bound games will ever see a difference in FPS between RAM kits of these two frequencies. We are both the kind of person to closely monitor the FPS reading and fret over getting as much value of our money, and we likely both spend days tuning a parts list before we buy anything. OP is not a hardcore enthusiast. This is their first build. Don't give them enthusiast-to-enthusiast advice, give them, professional, and practical advice.

The sad fact is that CPUs have been lagging behind GPUs in terms of performance per generation, also did you notice OP is gonna use the iGPU until prices normalize? Might as well make the wait a bit less unbearable... Which reminds me might be a reason to grap 11th gen even if performance barely is better just to get a better iGPU during the wait!

You are right about one thing, @Idunnoshould buy 11th gen if they won't be able to get a GPU on time just so they can get UHD 750. It isn't Xe, but it will be better.

Actually its a XE one, its just not named it for some reason... ((Also fairly sure RAM speed affected iGPU))
