Budget (including currency): 400-600  Euros €

Country:  Slovenia, Europe.

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Photoshop, Sony vegas pro, 2k 144hz, 4k 60hz gaming.

Other details:

I have next components:

CPU: 9700K - NZXT Kraken x52

GPU: RTX 2080 Ventus 8GB

MOBO: Asus TUF Z390 Gaming

RamG.SKILL Aegis 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz DDR4

         G.SKILL Aegis 16GB (2x8GB) 3000MHz DDR4

Storage: Samsung SSD  860 EVO 500 GB

               Seagate BarraCuda 2TB

So, I wanted to buy Xbox Series X because of amazing loading speeds in games but then I said meh, I have all this expensive pc gear and I should really just upgrade it. I was thinking to buy M.2. SSD for Windows installation and then maybe Crucial MX500 2TB for Steam games.

I really want to buy something that would be really fast compared to my current ssd and make all experience faster and smoother.

Thanks for help.

You could use an NVME drive, but I guarantee that you will barley even see a difference between N

VME/Gen4 and SATA. Considering your budget you may aswell upgrade, but its pretty pointless if you ask me.

I agree, you do already have a good system. The PCI gen 4 SSD in the Series X won't make a big difference over PCI gen 3. It's more for the Xbox exclusives and console experience I'd say. I don't think you need to upgrade at all, just the following is possible.

For upgrades I recommend:

M.2: Kingston A2000 or Samsung 970 Evo (Plus) or WD Blue SN550 or Crucial P2/P5

Samsung 970 Evo Plus is the fastest here, but barely any noticeable difference compared to the others.

SATA: Crucial MX500 or Samsung 870 Evo

But if you want it a bit cheaper, then Crucial BX500 or Samsung 870 QVO or WD Blue or Sandisk Ultra

See, this Kingston a2000 is a good value ssd because it is one of the cheapest dram m.2s, but if you want to notice a real major difference I would go with a 980 pro.
The fact that they have an 860 evo and need faster speed and high end stuff from just a year or two ago, I might go straight for the 9980 pro. idk if the upgrade from the 860 evo to the a2000 will be noticeable enough to justify. Maybe it might be.

Edit: I didn't realise z390 didn't support gen 4, so don't but a gen 4 ssd.
