I intend to remove an iMac from its housing or drill tubing holes in the body to liquid cool the cpu and gpu, then use it as a home server to migrate my bananaPro server over to something that can handle more transcoding jobs. I'm gonna give mac Sever a shot, but ultimately I will probably get tired of limited functionality and just wipe it, chalk the $19.99 up as a loss and install some custom linux server distro. But in the mean time... I have found that application as the only potential method of increasing CPU clock.. not even sure if the turbo boost mode is actually over-clocking, or just reducing the thermal throttling as they claim it does? If it actually does over-clock, the liquid cooling I'll be adding; as well as the thermal throttle reduction this provides, might allow it to constantly run at it's best potential for the machine it's stuck in. Did anyone ever find out any more info on mac CPU overclocking?
