Is this a reliable comparison?  If so, (my laptop is the one on the left) would I notice a big difference by getting the laptop to the right?

By the way my current laptop has a 60hz screen.  The one I'm looking at has 144hz.

Is it a worthy upgrade?

Userbench isn't a very reliable source.

I am NOT a professional and a lot of the time what I'm saying is based on limited knowledge and experience. I'm going to be incorrect at times.

Userbenchmark for direct comparisons? No. Rough comparisons? Yes.

What is your current laptop, and what one are you looking at purchasing?

Current:

Dell G3

i7 8750h

8gb ddr4

128gb m.2

1tb hdd

1060 6gb mq

I paid $900 in 2018

Looking at:

MIS GE75 Raider

i7 10750h

16gb ddr4

512gb m.2

1tb hdd

2070 mobile (non-mq)

$1,300 - $100 rebate = $1,200

Does your current laptop not do something you need it to do or not perform great in a game you'd like to play?
If so, what is it? Otherwise, your current laptop is most likely fine.

My buddy has a 144hz monitor on his home computer.  It blew me away.  He said my laptop can't output faster than 60hz on the hdmi port.  True?

My laptop doesn't have display port or thunder bolt.  Only hdmi.

I want to get into high fps gaming.

I could build a desktop but I'm not willing to pay $1,000 for something like a 3060ti.

False. Your laptop has HDMI 2.0, which supports 4K 60 Hz, or 1440p 144 Hz. If you get a 144 Hz monitor and run it at max 1440p, it will run at 144 Hz if you set it in NVidia Control Panel.

?? depends on the port, but else the most common HDMI's should be able to do 1080p 144hz, higher res or hz might not be supported due to limits.

that is ONLY if your screen can go beyond 60HZ, else it would not, if not there is an option for unstable overclock for the screen?

Most standard screens go to 60HZ. But I guess you could use it on another screen, might not get the best out of 144HZ with the graphic card, as it also has to push enough frames for the HZ.

For things like that UserBenchmark is not a good comparison. You'd definitely notice the difference between the two. The laptop you're looking at should do better in games, plus it has a 144Hz display.
