Is there a reason why you need that specific cpu?

Id probably just get a VPS from one of the large providers like Amazon, Microsoft, or Google, and get epyc instances.

it will be used for game hosting I previously used a 3600 but I found instead of buying multiple when they fill it maybe cheaper to get 1 5950x server

Id probably get multiple smaller vps nodes, and start/stop them as needed. Most datacenters arne't using 5950xs as epyc works better in servers.

Could also colocate a server(I did this with a 3900x), often cheaper in the long run, but you have to manage more hardware, and the hypervisor on the hardware.

I've had good experiences with their servers, at least through a reseller. Not sure about their CS.

Their closest datacentre is NYC, in the USA, however. Latency wouldn't probably be great. Couldn't find a provider with the 5950X in the EU.

5950X and other Ryzen CPUs are pretty common in game servers iirc. Seen OVH offer 3600X/3700X/3900X, with a couple other hosts offering 5000 series.

Over priced as only reason I can't go hetzner finland dedi for 5950x is because my ddos prot node is in the uk and the amount of connection issues would be insane

Id just rent a vps using Epyc and a vm of it instead. Much more common and easier to find out there. Why not go Epyc here?

Or colocate if you want cheaper and customer hardware, but rzyen isn't common in datacenters as its not made for it.

What do you mean there no good? They should be pretty simmilar to the same generation of desktop chips.

VPS's also have very little perofrmance impact if done well, like 1% or less
