DeoVR doesnt recognize android gamepad

Bought this thing to be able to recenter the view by pressing a key, but when im on the controllers option where you can map actions to buttons, no button is recognized. The gamepad works, DeoVR just ignores it.

 

What can I do? I cant believe I bought this for nothing. Amazing
