I've just built a new haswell i5 system, i'm currently using my old Radeon HD 3850 and the fan basically sounds like my case has a hull breach.

I'm looking to upgrade to an Asus 770 direct CU2, but am worried about how loud the fans are going to be.

Do the newer graphics cards have quieter fans and/or the ability to turn things down when not in use?
