Hi there,

This is a follow up from my previous post, where I had abnormally high CPU temps. After looking in my BIOS, I found that my voltage for my CPU is 1.4v. Is that too high? I'm on an Asus Prime A320M-K, if that helps. And with it being an A320 motherboard, I cannot overclock. Should I / can I reduce the voltage?

As for temps, it is reaching 90 degrees C under load.

what CPU do you have installed? Its not uncommon for motherboards on auto to pump way to much voltage than necessary into chips.

mmmk, thats common then on auto. Also in the BIOS, it runs it all at full bore so you will see high values in BIOS compared to windows at idle. If you want to control it more, you can try tuning your Vcore to where its stable using Ryzen Master and a stress test like Aida64 to see where temps and voltage control gets you.

Does this look normal?

In this screenshot, you can see the voltage goes quite high

Speeds, voltages and other settings yes.. but 45c is quite high at idle with those given values. What cooler are you using?

It may be time to do a reapply of thermal paste then, or upgrade the cooler.

I'll try new thermal paste first, then if that's a no go I'll replace the cooler. Any recommendations?

I have the CiT Flash, which has a max cooler height of 155mm, I'm in the UK (so in £) and anything below £50 I would consider, but around £30 would be best

Cryorig H7 is one of my favorite coolers. I have one on my wifes 3600 and it works like a charm!!

Could also go for the CPU cooler that Jayztwocents just reviewed as well.
