Unity like global menu/title bar

Go to solution Solved by Alexeygridnev1993,

For a global menu, if I'm not entirely mistaken, I used this one (when I wanted to make my Kubuntu look like MacOS) - https://store.kde.org/p/1274975/

I am using Manjaro with KDE. I would like to customize the DE's top panel to behave like unity did.

Have a top panel which

*Displays the active window

*Shows the window decorations (close, minimalize, maximalize button)

*Global menu

*Hide title bar on maximalized window

Thank you for your answers

You want it to be exactly like Unity, or just "close enough"? I suggest switching to Gnome.

I don't like gnome and as far as I know, gnome doesn't support global menu bar.

Fair enough, I also hate Gnome lel. It does support a global menu bar iirc but whatever, KDE is objectively superior anyway 😉

You can get a global menu as a widget for a panel. I'm pretty sure you can get the other stuff you want as well.

Sadly Unity was the only desktop that really pushed a global menu. The closest you'll get is Mate's "Mutiny" layout, but it's not a perfect solution since the application has to support it.

What are you talking about? There was one project on GitHub aiming to bring back global menu in GNOME, however that was discontinued because GNOME doesn't export the menu bar any more....
