Just a question.... Raspberry Pi 4 mining

SO i had an idea (maybe an idea for a video for LTT?) on eBay, the RTX 3080 is going for over $2100. lets say i can get Raspberry Pi 4 for $35, meaning i can get 60 of them for that same price, which will mine coins quicker?

The ARM1176JZ(F)-S processor in the Rasberry Pi 4 can achieve a hash rate of 0.2 MH/s. The RTX 3080, on the other hand, achieves a hash rate of 85.79 MH/s.

In short, you'd have to buy 428 Rasberry Pi 4s to achieve the same hash rate as a single 3080.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Not that it would be a good plan but you could probably buy 428 Pi-4's and have them half payed off before you could find a 3080 in stock.  🙂

The network switching for that mess would be epic to see though.  👍
