Hello everyone, I have a dilemma I have not come across before.

I have an MSI B550 Edge Gaming WIFI (got it in a combo deal)

and also the KEIDERS E-ATX PC gaming case.

The case came with preinstalled risers and fits multiple form factors. Unfortunately though these risers can't be removed?

My motherboard is ATX, this case Fits multiple form factors including ATX, the problem is one of the risers will be touching the motherboard..

in my experience this is a big no no, yet on the back of my motherboard I have big White tabs that look like the risers may be able to touch?

I attached some photos of the Riser I can't remove

and the back of the mobo..

thoughts? am I ok with  the white locations on the mobo?

ok I thought about that, any issues with melting and heat for the tape ya think?

Electrical tape is meant to go onto well electrical wires. It's fine. You can try burning it but all it does is shrink a bit.

So what exactly is case stand off Keep out zone? which one is the zone..the black aka board, or the white portion? In theory is that designed for this exact reason? incase there are stand offs that don't unscrew and can contact the board? I never payed attention because I never had preinstalled risers like this 🙂

That entire region where you can see components on the surface, so you don't knock them off accidentally when installing the board.

so the black is the keep out zone, the white is alright

I'd be a bit more careful and consider everything between the two lines of text and left of the arrows (including them) the no-go zone, seeing how densely populated that bit is... The rain drop arrows don't mean "put your standoffs  here" they mean "watch out you don't accidentally damage this area".

i did end up cutting the stand off, had to end up drilling part of the side panel to get it out, terrible design, cleaned it all up, used 3 cans of air and realllyyyyy aired it out for any metal flakes, its open case design and looks clean now, i think manufacturer did the 6 fans all wrong..probably have to turn them all around...now its ATX ready. jeeepers
