specs: i5-10400

gaming x ax motherboard - BIOS up to date

GTX 1660

16GB LPX 3000mhz RAM

 

 

when I try to boot, my peripheral lights turn on along with the screen for about half a second, then the peripherals turn off but the screen is showing nothing (but it still works and is getting a signal), I have to had shut down my pc to get it to work, what’s the issue?

I would pull the graphics card and plug the video directly into the motherboard and see if the issue persists. This will eliminate the graphics card as the problem. If the issue still happens then you know it is not the graphics card. If the issue goes away you know it is either the graphics card or slot the graphics card is plugged into.

 

If the issue still persists I would reseat the RAM. If the issue still continues I would then pull one memory stick and test the other and then repeat with the other to see if one of the RAM sticks is bad. I have seen a similar issue caused by bad RAM stick.

 

You may also want to check to see if something like FastBoot or ultra fastboot is enabled in the BIOS and disable it as this may be preventing some driver from loading properly which could be causing the problem.

I've had similar issues with RAM. Do you get any beeps or are their any diagnostic lights on the motherboard?

So it looks like your OS is corrupt or hdd is failing.
