GPU does not display/does not show up in devices. What do?

ShadowChaser

I've got a gtx 1080 that I'm really trying to get working - so far the fans spin, but I'm not getting any display out of it through any of the ports. Using the igpu I can get into windows where I can see that there are no display adapters showing up apart from the igpu, not even one with an error under system devices. Same story in the bios - no pcie device is detected.

Specs of testbench:

Asus Z170-A

Intel Core i5 6500T

1x8GB DDR4 2400

Segotep 600W Gold

So far I've tried the following:

  • remounting the cooler
  • trying other pcie slots
  • clearing cmos

Anything I should do before tossing in the towel and baking the damn thing? Thanks in advance!
