I have a HP Pavilion 15-cs0993na and have finally upgraded it to 16GB HYPERX IMPACT DDR4. Next month I will be upgrading my SSD NVME M.2 from 128GB to 1TB. The next step i would like to take after that is to upgrade my CPU from an i3 to an i5 or i7. I have tried taking a look everywhere for specs etc. but I'm completely lost. I'm aware that the CPU might be soldered to my laptop but i do know how to solder so that won't be a problem

Most likely your CPU is soldered to the mobo (as you already stated). The problem is that you cannot simply remove the old CPu and solder a new one on there unless you have some sorts of godlike soldering skills. So your best guess would be to get a new mobo with the higher tier CPu already soldered on there that fits your chassis. Most manufacturers offer their laptops with different CPUs but otherwise pretty much same mobos, so try to get one of these.

Your CPU is  soldered to your motherboard, and effectively cannot be upgraded. BGA soldering is its own skillset, and a CPU is top-tier difficulty at that.

It will be cheaper and easier to upgrade the laptop as a whole.

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora
