I have a 27" monitor and i use a vga cable but when i load a youtube video or pictures fullscreen it does not look 1080 so i was wonderring if i need to use a different display option like hdmi or something.

VGA is for 1080p and under, if your monitor is 1440p, go buy a DVI-D Dual Link cable.

And YouTube's video quality is shit.

So should i get a better monitor than?

You don't need to get a better monitor, just downsize to a 24" 1080p or 1200p monitor and everything will be a nice, crisp, high ppi paradise. You could also get a 1440p monitor, but you'd need to graphical grunt to run games on it in the first place.

A hdmi cable would be much better than a VGA cable.

But my monitor has speakers in it and i prefer to wear a headset, will it affect that?

Just use a DVI cable...no sound! Magic! ;)

Then by all means go for a 1440p monitor. Asus and Dell have some nice offerings. Keep in mind, these are SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive. £400 in the UK. and between $600-$1000 depending on the model in the US. What hardware are you running?

Yo, what Graphics card are you running? Don't go rushing out to buy a 1440p monitor just because we said so. We need to analyse your build first ;) You'll need to be running at least a GTX 760 to play games at Low-Medium settings @ 1440p.
