Hi, I just recently put together a new build here are the specs:

CPU: Intel Xeon W3680

GPU: GTX 670

Motherboard: Asus Rampage III Gene

RAM: Corsair Pro Vengeance Series

2x8GB DDR3 1600Mhz

Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition

PSU: EVGA 600 BQ, 80+ Bronze 600W

Case: NZXT H510i

SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 120GB

I had a bit of trouble getting it to boot up, I needed both 6+6 Pins in my GPU and that fixed it but now, after using it for like 2 hours the whole system has just shut off, I tried powering it by pressing the start on the motherboard but nothing, I held and pressed the little red button beside but nothing too.

Each time I switch on my PSU I get the start and reset button to light up and the fans switch on for a second then off. It’s my first build so I’d really appreciate some help, thank you!

Just now, emosun said:

that board is almost 11 years old are you sure it actually is still in working condition? high end boards tend to die a lot more than typical motherboards when they age for this long.

No it was working, I was using it like normal for like 2 hours, I was updating windows 10 and my drivers everything was working that’s why I’m confused

i understand and agree that it WAS working.

but it now isn;t working so you'll need to do a basic bench test of the board and narrow down the possibilities.

Where do I start? I’m completely new to this whole building PC’s thing I read somewhere it might be the PSU and I did try the paperclip test and my PSU fan wasn’t spinning but it still lit up my motherboard, it’s all so confusing
