Looking to get a UHD display on my next laptop for content creation however I am also an avid gamer. I feel the best route is to also get a 1440p Monitor to use as a docking station when home but I was concerned with running my display at a lower than native resolution on my laptop occasionally. Do displays still have issues running lower than native? Should I just get a UHD monitor instead of the laptop display?

I'm not quite sure what you are trying to ask

So, you want a 4K laptop, but also a 1440p monitor to use at home

What's exactly your question? Just use your laptop at 4K and the monitor at 1440p

Does scaling resolution down from the native resolution create inaccurate images or will it look the same as 1440p monitor on a UHD display?

you are not scaling down anything, you are running native resolution on both displays

your GPU doesn't display a certain resolution, it displays whatever you want it to display, you get the same GPU for models with 1080/1440/4K panels

I understand that, I meant setting my display settings on the 4K panel to 1440p. My english is not the best.

Oh I see, well, scaling down a game isn't THAT bad, but it's not great either

If it's an FPS you might not feel comfortable with the results but for every non competitive game it should be totally fine

I played Warzone on a 27" 1440p monitor scaling down to 1080p and it still looked good, not sure about smaller screens

Thank you. If I game it is usually not FPS however I do occasionally play EFT. I will be using it primarily for work so I don't anticipate it being an issue, as long as it's still playable while traveling abroad.
