Internet and Computer went down simultaneously resulting in frozen Computer and no Post.

As the title says, my computer froze into a blackscreen mid-game at the same time as the Internet went down. 

Internet restarted, computer however refused to post until RAM was re-seated. No idea if I did anything to help, just want to know if someone could explain this "phenomena".
