I just put a hard drive in my pc and I wanna pack up my PC to it so I can update the BIOS safer, but I don't know how. Once I update, im just gonna use it as more storage. Help?

friend's old micron 2x8gb 2666MHz

 

Replaced all fans with Thermaltake Riing Quads

Monitor 3 HP OMEN 25 
Keyboard Red Dragon Deverajas base with lubed Cherry MX Clears and Polychroma caps

Windows has a perfectly useful backup program built-in.

 

If you want to make an exact clone of your drive, that's a different story.

That said if you want full image of your system drive you might want something different, running from bootable media, like clonezilla.

If you are really worried about things, simply pull the drive out of your system and update via USB.

Otherwise, clone the drive (easiest) and call it good to go.

I did not know I could update if I pulled out my drive, that might be easier. Ill see which one will be easier, and go ahead with that. Thank you all so much!

All depends on your mobo, some will update from USB stick, others require a windows file to be executed.

You'd have to read your mobo manual to determine which version you can do
