Hello, I'm looking to change the thermal paste of my gpu and i got a cooler master compound that came with my cooler master hyper 212 , would it be okay and safe to use it ?

Also I'll be using alcohol 90 for the cleaning since it's what I have at hand , that also okay ?

That should be fine, for as long as the thermal paste is not electrically conductive. MX-4 or a high quality paste will be good with your graphics card. 90% isopropyl alcohol is great as the higher %, the better it is as you're not introducing any impurities/water that is found in lower percentage.

So the one I have won't be good at all ? I mean the cooler master thermal paste

It should be good that paste, as long as the tube is not old and the paste has separated into different components (oil/water), the paste should work.

In fact, any thermal paste should work fine as long as its not electrically conductive; those that I pointed out in my previous post are just thermal pastes that are the best* on the market (not including liquid metal, which is completely different and some precautions are to be taken when using it).

The paste should be okay since I got the cooler like 3 months ago, and yes I will get thermal grizzly later on, but for now I wanna try this to clean my gpu since I haven't in so many years , thank you !

Ok, just know that if you use the Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut (Liquid Metal), you can't use on aluminum heatsinks.

If your GPU paste hasn't been changed in a few years then probably any fresh paste would be a good idea. Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut tends to be a favorite of many people but I think you'll be happy enough with the CM paste for now.

I tried some different pastes on my CPU and GPU and have ended up with Kryonaut on my CPU and Conductonaut on my GPU. It's copper coated so aside from staining it doesn't do much damage to the heatsink
