You probably can use a 3rd gen i7 for that, but i don't know if the bios will support it.

FOr the gpu i suggest RX580.

if you want to run vga as well, it'll take an adaptor, will be slightly more expensive (12ish dollars for not cheapo?)

Oh ok, so like it would be a dual dongle? Like hdmi to DVI/VGA?

*Found it. Yeah it's like 12 bucks*

Yeah, you can run one hdmi->DVI and then one DP->VGA to accommodate your legacy monitors.

*Update*

4gb ram stick on its way from amazon.

considering 2600s and gt 710 instead of 2600 and 580.

ssd installed and bosted speed significantly.

wifi card taken from old laptop (RIP) and installed. Wifi sucks though cause its wifi 2. (is there a way to boost the signal?)

The change from an RX580 to a Gt710 is a DRASTIC change. If you don't mind playing at dog crap settings, then a 710 might be an option. Is there a specific reason you are making that huge leap down?

the 710 is at my local best buy and its cheaper than what im seeing for the 580 online. (around 160-300? pretty sure im not looking at the right places.) I also saw the 1030 there for 120.00, so that is on my radar as well.

RX580 will need 100w and i7 3rd gen around 75-100w, total system probably 250w.

300w can run but will be very short, i suggest 450w PSU.

Oh, that doesnt sound too bad. Also, i cant find the 580 any cheaper than 160-300. do you have a link to a good price? Also again, Is the gt 1030 comparable? (710 is off the table)

Dont' buy a new RX580, get a 4gb model used, no more than $150.

The prices are absurd right now, it usually cost around $100.
