Spray Job

Hi Guys/Gals,

 

I live in the UK and currently own a Coolermaster Cosmos 2 case. I am creating a completely new build including watercooling but before I do anything I want to get my case completely re-sprayed with some lovely artwork all over the case. Could anyone be of help and point me in the right direction to some shops or people in the UK that could do his for me and perhaps give me some ideas?

I think you could find an auto shop to do it. Though it will be a little weird coming in and asking them to do so >.<

plan on spending about a 1000 dollars US because the that is how much the paint will be to get it sprayed and then clear coated as well as the air brushing

I'm pretty sure you could find a hobbyist would do it for $100. You can probably find an airbrushing forum and look for some locals.

Did you go and ask West Coast Customs for a quote?

If painting isn't a must, have a look into covering it in foil instead.
It's apparently all the rage for cars these days - you could have full sheets printed with artwork on them, and just have them applied to your case.
This leaves you with a protective layer on the outside of the case, a lovely artwork, and if you get sick of it or want to re-purpose the case, you can just peel it off with a little effort.

At least around these parts, most advertising companies and some car detailers can do it, and it will cost you substantially less than $1000.

/EDIT: Oh, and you could also look into hydro dipping - a lot cheaper, but only if you go for a pattern that is all ready available - having something custom made is always 'spensive.

You might be better off making your own stencils and painting over them.

Yes my friends owns a garage that does paint jobs but I need the artwork first and I am not sure his guys do artwork, just full resprays

Get a large cauldron, fill it with paint and disconnect the power from the computer - make sure it's off and slowly dip it in all the way, then get it out and let it dry for a few minutes.

Oh and make sure to get the excess paint off by putting the thing under the shower.

Nice job. I am looking to get the whole case themed "space". So it will be dark with a galaxy (or more), stars, planets, possibly a space craft or something. Singularity Computers did a bit of artwork on the back of his case which looks really cool although I want this all over the whole case. In the link, skip to 32.00 mins on the video and the blackened area on the back showing space, I want that everywhere. -

That's quite expensive but imagine it is going to cost a lot. Then again I am spending thousands on the hardware anyways lol
