So, i'm rocking an old Dell Optiplex 390 Motherboard from some office pc I got for 100 dollars now its been a few years and I've slowly upgraded my ram to 16 gigs, gpu to 1060 6gb, and have gotten a new case with some nice RBG fans. Issue now is that I dont think my motherboard will support any i5 cpus that are above 3rd or fourth generation so can anyone help me aquire the proper motherboard for my new cpu that im planning to buy a i5 10400. Please and thank you.

I would go with a b460 motherboard. Not to be confused with b450 motherboards. Another great way to check compatibility is by using pcpartpicker.com. if you put a cpu and a motherboard in a build it will usually tell you of there are any compatibility issues. Also I believe if you select the cpu first the motherboard choices usually filter out noncompatible options.
