Budget (including currency): 1000 USD

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Rust, COD Warzone, Davinci Resolve, Blender, Unreal Engine (not coding, similar usage to what blender is for), Cubase

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

So probably a common question around these parts but, I want to build a gaming PC under 1k or at 1k. Probably very challenging considering now is an expensive time to do so. The few requirements I have are I need to have a Ryzen CPU, and a TB of storage at least (instrument libraries take up a ton of space), and 16 gigs of RAM (also necessary for music composing). RTX 2060 perfomance or similar (Radeon equivalent) is probably the baseline for the graphics card I want.

As for the things I would *like* but would be fine with not getting are a motherboard with integrated wifi and bluetooth. I have a wifi dongle so it wouldn't be a problem but every USB port counts I suppose.
An RTX graphics card, because DLSS, but Radeon is pretty good these days as well

Anyhow, for the actual post. Gonna be building my first gaming pc and I would really enjoy your guys help on suggesting parts and tips on building a PC. I know a few basic things (don't force the CPU in, mount as many things to the motherboard before installing, install RAM in dual channel mode, etc) but this being my first build means there's still quite a bit I don't know. Also this is somewhat of a hypothetical case as I'm still undecided as to whether get a PC or a laptop. If this build can still be pulled off at this price in this time, then I just might go for it.
Thank you guys in advanced

This is probably the best you're gonna get new. I would try to find a different GPU on the used market that isn't extremely marked up compared to $200 for a 1050 Ti and just wait it out to get a 2070 or up, since anything else new is gonna be over budget. I wouldn't spend over $100 on a GPU and try to wait out these next few months until the prices finally come back to some semblance of normal, and you can get something like a 2070 super, or if you want new, get a 3060 non super and drop the PSU to a 650W to keep it under budget (I just kept the 850W for reliability and future expansion if you want to go top end 30 series later down the road).

1. Can you wait several months for the rig?

2. Why specifically Ryzen? No, It's not necessarily better.

3. Provided that you can wait and your reason for wanting ryzen wasn't a great one, I'd reccomend this:

I think what'll probably end up happening is I'll get the weaker power supply and the 3060. From the videos I've seen it's fairly capable for what I wanted out of a graphics card. Thanks for the reply!

I never gave a reason a for why I wanted Ryzen, just that I did lol. Every CPU can be overclocked is a reason I probably should've mentioned, but I'm not sure I would want to do so. Anyhow thanks for the reply!
Not sure I will end up with this build (I would really appreciate the SSD speed when loading VSTs while writing music) but I'll definitely consider it!

Just telling you, overclocking cpu is not a good idea. It will produce more heat more noise to the pc. Especially the stock cooler on ryzen can't handle overclock well, even if you get a aftermarket cooler. If you think overclocking the cpu produce heat noise trades to 5%-8% more performance is just not worth imo

Sorry man, the teeny tiny SSD and slow RAM kinda killed this one for me. Maybe I'd get decent performance in certain applications, but I'm going to be doing a variety of tasks. Thanks for trying though

That's a valid point. Always nice to have the option though I suppose

Probably one of the most appealing builds so far. Looks like the 3060 is already being jacked up in price so if I do go with this build, it'd probably be after the price decreases to its original $329.

Yeah pricing on most things is bad at the minute :old-sad: Forgot to mention, if you go with the P300A case you would want to add a couple of cheap fans i.e Arctic P12/P14 for the front, as it only comes with one rear fan installed.
