Hey, I recently posted about my pc in Power Supplies,

because everytime I try to start furmark or any games, my pc just restarts without any signals, just straight black screen.

SPECS:

Motherboard: Supermicro X7DB8

CPU: 1x Intel Xeon 5450

RAM: 32GB DRR2

GPU: MSI RX 470 ARMOR OC (4GB)

PSU: CHIEFTEC 500W

As I said, I have posted in Power Supplies section, and a few nice guys told me that my psu is dying and thats why its restarting. I got a 650W psu, and hooked it up ONLY to the videocard with the 8pin. Jumpstarted the psu, everything started fine.  I checked the temps they were normal, GPU 12V was: 11.560V

I started up furmark, instantly restarted again. Is the problem with my gpu?, someone has any idea? I'm out of ideas now 😕

If thats idle voltage readout, that does sound very low. Considering I never even heard of that brand before I wouldnt be surprised if that PSU is absolute garbage, also why havent you just connected the new PSU completely?

It is idle voltage readout, I heard about voltages in a video and they said +/- 5% is okay. And I didn't connected it completly because I wanted to try out if theres a power supply problem or a gpu problem:/  I don't know what to do, by they way its a miner card. I bought it from ebay like 7months ago, everything was working fine, I installed a new normal bios to it. And it was working fine, it started this problem like 1-2months ago

While it is within spec, it's barely within spec.

And the fact that it's a mining card might be your problem.

PLEASE STOP [Killing] ME I WILL GIVE Y OU ANOTHER DEAL.

I don't know, it has been working like this for months without any problem. I'm trying to find a fresh vbios but seems to be the newest is flashed to it.

If it was working before, I suspect the power supply.

This happened when Linus tried to game on a "1000W" power supply from AliExpress - as soon as the GPU tried to pull any power, the PSU couldn't provide the power, shut down, and the system rebooted.

Seems like, I installed another VBIOS, and seems like its holding up a bit.

Yep - 10.7V is very much out of spec.

Here - take a look at the PSU tier list and pick a Tier A or B unit:

I'd advise 550W or higher, though I could be wrong about that.

I believe it's Tier C. Maybe, but not advised.

Also Tier D.

No.

Pick a few PSUs from Tier A or B, not C or D.

A lot of these aren't available in my country(Hungary), and if they are, they are horrible prices, I know that I can't cheap out on PSU(as I experienced with this chieftec "psu") but currently I can't afford 100$ powersupplies 😕

Well, you can:
1. Save up and get a better power supply

2. Get a temporary PSU and get a better one later
