Buggy Chrome app

Hi,

 

For the past few months, the Chrome app has been super buggy on my phone (OnePlus 7). At first I thought it would be fixed with an update from either Google or OnePlus but it keeps getting worse.

 

So there are many issues from a flickering effect on some websites to the app being unresponsive until I press the home button and reopen it. Sometimes pages open up completely messed up as on the attached screenshot.

 

Both Chrome and Android are up to date ( checked the play store and the software settings) and there's no way to uninstall Chrome. What can I try?

I think you'd be glad to know Chrome is buggy and freezes regularly on my phone too(Nokia 6.1 Plus). I remember reading somewhere it's due to the way Google decided to split Chrome and Android's webview across the OS.

Installing the Beta version seems to have fixed it for me.
