No internet on my computer

Hi everyone, I have my gaming pc for about 7 months. It has always worked great but now my computer says it is connected to ethernet but the icon and windows say it isn't. I can use google chrome just fine but things like windows update tell me that i have no internet connection. 

I was hoping that someone could help me out!

Network topology?

is it your router? are you connected via ethernet of wireless connection. check that. or check your carrier and see if there is a wifi outage in your area

I am connected via ethernet, i can't get my computer to connect with wifi.

When i plug the ethernet cable into my laptop it works just fine!
