[SOLVED] Interent not working - exam in 1 hour!!!!!!!

gal-m

I get this message on most websites, such as wikipedia, reddit, etc. DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

My Microsoft Teams also says it can't get online - this is where I'm taking my exam.

I can still google normally and LTT forums load normally. I restarted my Router and PC.

I know I should have posted this under troubleshooting but I NEED this to get seen as as many people as possible - I am sincerely sorry.

Sorry I just saw that you said you restarted the PC, but it looks like it might be a DNS issue, do you have any VPNs on?

Have you tried restarting your computer?

Restarted every bit of tech in the house. Computer, router, modem, switch. Everything.

That is a DNS error. Try setting your DNS to Google's (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or Cloudflare's (1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1).

@jj9987 & @lexusgamer05 just got word from the IPS. They have a malfunction on their side and are trying to resolve it ASAP... not sure I'll be able to make it to my exam 😞

It actually isn't. Its an SSL Certificate error.

I agree with jj9987 It looks like your ISP dns is having trouble but you can bypass that by swapping your dns servers for googles. Good luck!

DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN indicates DNS failed to resolve domain to IP address, NXDOMAIN is the response when the requested domain cannot be resolved.

Ahh my apologies, I was confusing it with a similar sound error in Firefox that triggers when an SSL cert doesn't cover a subdomain (RX_MESSAGE_TOO_LONG).
