Is there any benefit in getting 4k over 1440p at 27"? I won't game on it at all, but I don't know if there is any benefit to going for a 4k monitor over a 1440p one

I have a 4k 27" monitor and my friend has a 1440p one, and for non-gaming tasks mine looks significantly better for things like movies, youtube, and (I'm a photographer) creative work. If you're not doing creative work or don't want to spend extra money I would go for 1440, if you want movies and content to look super crisp get 4k.

At 27" you would barely see any difference, if at all. You need bigger displays to take full advantage of 4k. So the benefit of 1440p is that you would save some money compaired to a 4k display.

i just say get 4k if its 50" tv or plus, since i somehow found a 1080p thinnest tv ever its 60hz, and its samsun 55", like what, just geta 4k tv, and a 1440p monitor, whih  say is ike 34" and lower

Before I had a 27” 5k iMac, which was great. Would I really not see that much difference between that and a 1440 monitor?

You wont see any difference caused by the PPI of 4k 27" vs 1440p 27".

You will see the difference in rendering quality between games run at 1440p and 4k. More aliasing at 1440p vs 4k assuming u dont have Anti Aliasing enabled.

You can however always run games at 4k regardless of your monitors resolution, u just have to enable ether DSR or create custom resolutions.

The other difference you'll notice is the ofc the GPU requirements for 4k vs 1440p.

At 4k you'll want a 'minimum' performance of that of a 1080ti/2080/2080S/3060ti. Ideally you'd want a 3080.

Finally, u may notice some difference in text, but nothing to an extent that would be problematic.

I understand. Thank you for your help. I was considering either the LG 27ul850 or the LG 27qn880. I think all things considered at that price. It makes more sense to get the 850, cause even with an arm there’s only £40-£50 in it. What do you think? Is the LG ergo arm so much better than a normal one it’s worth going from 4K to 1440?

Cant comment on the arm, when it comes to displays i only look at what the unit is designed to do ..produce an image. a quality image. It could wrapped in a cardboard chassis and held up with a stone for all i care 😛

You'd have to find some reviews to see what the image quality is like between them. At a cursory glance i cant see any thorough reviews so ull be taking a gamble on the quality and real capabilities of the display if u cant find any either.
