Windows Headphone virtualization

Does anyone have any new information on how this works?? I have exactly the same question as OP and nobody else on the web seems to be answering it.

 

Like, do you need headphone virtualisation on in order for Windows Sonic for Headphones to work? Or does having both on make it too spatial? Or is it something else entirely?
