Prebuilt PC with no system restore point...

rip. That's not great. On another computer create a bootable windows 10 installation media with https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10. Then when in the wizard to install windows, go to repair your computer, troubleshoot, then startup repair. See if this fixes your issue. If not maybe a fresh install of windows is best, then recover your old documents from the original installation of windows.

I’m just gonna let them take care of this, lol they’re sending me a  shipping for the to troubleshoot this stuff.

I bought a prebuilt pc, and downloaded 3 things, the game I play, streamlabs, and discord. Got into the game I play for maybe 10 minutes, I close the game with alt - f4, because the key I use to pick stuff up wasn’t working, restart the game and it runs super choppy. So I close the game and update the drivers, and then my pc gives me a blank black screen when I try to power it up for windows, I can access BIOS, just can’t get into windows? I also tried re-seating the gpu and the ram as well. I tried safe mode to system restore but there is no restore point. I don’t n ow what else I can do to get the pc to power up and windows to load, so this is my last ditch effort to turning my pc on again before getting the shipping label to send in for repairs... any help is greatly appreciated!

Windows 10, 650 80+ gold psu

Im not sure how to fix ure issue without some more info ... You say u can access the BIOS , what happens when u boot from the "boot options" ( think u spam F8/F12  when u turn pc on ?)

A test in the mean time would be to remove the GPU completely and use the on board HDMI to see if that will allow u to boot, to rule out some GPU issues.

Another  test (if u have a spare PC/laptop around) is to create a Linux Live USB and see if you pc will allow you to boot with that (if everything works, ul prob find that there has been some corruption somewhere on the HD and that a OS re-install would be advised.

All in all tho ... If its this new & still under warranty & something was broken on arrival ( key on keyboard ) ... I`d send it back and ask for a replacement 😉

As soon as it boots up, I get a quick 3-4second time frame to hit f11 (boot menu) or f2 or the delete key (uefi) and I’ve taken the gpu out, but only to re seat the gpu. And yeah it shipped out way earlier than expected, the arrival was suppose to be feb 8-11th and it’s the 4th lol. The keyboard I’m using isn’t their keyboard it’s one I’ve been using a little over a year lol. As far as the boot options go, from the boot menu I only have the one nvme, but 2 boot priorities. One being the nvme, the other being windows boot manager with the nvme info lol, hope this helps?? I’ve tried resetting and wiping my pc so I can get a fresh install of windows but that didn’t work either.

Could you give me a detailed list of your specs please?

Windows boot manager would be the one to select, but I would suggest to try and boot without the GPU installed ... If boots n u get not glitching ... its prob the GPU ... If it does not boot, you know that the issue is going to be with something that is still plugged in.

I would still suggest the Linux Live USB and it will allow u to to do basic tests on the HW to see if its working ok ... Ubuntu 20.04 LTS would be a good one to use 🙂

You could try turning your PC on and off again 3 times in order to access window recovery mode, then attempt a system restore to a date before you installed the drivers.

Sounds like a drivers issue to me ngl.

If this doesn't work, attempt starting up windows in safe mode, open up device manager and try to roll back your display driver, if that doesn't work, download an earlier display driver from your graphics card manufacturers website.

Hope this helps 🙂

I don’t have a system restore point, and I can’t load into windows at all 🙃 I’ve tried the safe mode but it’s blocked by administrator password which I don’t believe is anything, but once I click that for restore point it says I don’t have any restore points.

yeah if it's a prebuilt you may as well not stress yourself fixing it if someone else can just do it for free lol.

Good luck!
