Java File wont install... HELP

So I am trying to install java so I can run Optifine. I did this successfully on my laptop, but not on my actual PC. The error "C:\Users\camer\Downloads\Optifine_1.16.5_HD_U_G6.jar" pops up every time I try to run Optifine. The download file for java fully installs but when I try to open something that needs java, it doesn't work...

Have you downloaded java 64 bit? That might solve your problem since you might have 32 bit which is the default but worse type

You probably need to set the JAVA_HOME path in your environment. Example here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/setting-the-java_home-variable-in-windows-8895.html

whats the difference. If it  helps I downloaded it from java.com

offline just work for some reasour every time i tryed online it never work and say it got 32 bit

Actually, after I download Java, where do I go to choose it to open optifine. When I try to choose optifine, it says it needs a platform to open it on. Where should I go to choose that?

Also, whenever I choose Java Binary Script to open the file, it just crashes immediately

You need Java itself, not javascript. You can download it directly from Oracle's website.
