Cooler Master Hyper 212 Performance?

The Blue Cryptid
Go to solution Solved by tishous,

That seems about right. If the fans aren't screaming at 100% then it's what I would expect. My Ryzen 5 2600 gets to just under 60C with a 4ghz OC (1.35V) at full load with the Hyper 212 Black Edition with a rather quiet fan speed.

I just installed a 212 Black Edition in my new rig with dual fans, but I'm getting a full load temp of ~72C on a 3700X. Is this, like, acceptable or did I mount it wrong?

Just here for some fun.

After scouring some AMD forums, it looks like your full load temps are where they should be topping out at the low/mid 70's. I would just make sure your fan curves scale with the CPU so as it climbs, everything scales up to get that hot air our of the case.

Did you end up finding a good set of quiet fans? I was the Noctua stan from the other thread 😉

those temp seem fine at full load for that air cooler but if you're really worried I would recommend checking the thermal paste application

But would a 40-50C idle temp be ok?

Just here for some fun.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

Oh yeah. I got some scythe kaze flex 800rpms 😄. They seem to be doing good, im just unfamiliar with this cpu since my last one (r5 1600)barely went over 55 at load.

Just here for some fun.
