Hello!

I was looking for advice on which switch to use for a mechanical keyboard. I want a smoother switch that has a big tactile bump. I have already ruled out cherry mx browns.

Any recommendations?

I'd recommend you watch this video cause it could give you some good insight on what you might like.

I bought this little guy, a 72 switch tester from KBD fans. Yes, the price isn't that cheap, but it'll definitely give you a great idea of what you like in a keyboard

To me Durock T1 and its recolors, SP Star Purple sounds like the perfect match for you.
Here's the link to the Durock T1: https://divinikey.com/products/durock-t1-tactile-switch
