Vsync on uses more CPU or GPU?

I'm trying to bring some load off of my CPU in a game and I was wondering if having Vsync on will make my CPU use more resources or GPU? I'm assuming GPU because obviously the game feels smoother but I'm not too sure

Vsync just caps your FPS to your monitor refresh rate.

So it actually reduces load.

Yeah I'm noticing a notable difference in using other applications without them lagging outside the game, thanks

I don't know if you're aware of this already or not but V-Sync creates a lot of input lag so if you play multiplayer competitive games I would switch that off. For solo games it's ok. You could try to limit your in game FPS to avoid tearing instead of using V-Sync.
