Hello. So ive been having some blue screen issues. I just finished disasembling my computer because im moving tomorrow... I figured id take the motherboard out and have a look.

Theres a scratch right from on of the rear standoffs across to the edge. This is just below the IO. What do you guys think? Is this whats behind my bluescreens?

It could be... But when it comes to bluescreens, there's a zillion things it could be.

 

Try getting one of those crash-dump log files or a picture of the blue screen so we can make a more informed decision on what could be the problem.

If this happens again, makes sure to follow this:

 

On the BSOD you'll see something along the lines of 0x0000008E. There'll be a few, and the one you want is the one on the line above the others. Write this down (only the last few letter/numbers matter) and check it against these this full list of stop errors. Then go from there. 

 

Also windows 7 tends to give a little box when you reboot your PC that also gives you the stop error, although not always for whatever reason.
