Will this be a problem?

iEimis

Hi there, installed Aorus 3070 Master to my case (S340) and the end of the PCB is touching the case. Will this be okay? I am planning on changing my case eventually (when the availability improves) as the airflow is pretty limited in S340.

If you are afraid of it shorting out, and since you will replace the case soon, just an additional precaution, put an electrical tape on the spot that makes contact with the pcb. But as far as im concerned, as long as there is no trace or electrical contact there, its fine .

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

Absolutely not worth the risk. Metal on PCB might short it. I agree with Martin, you should put some insulating material between the 2.

But I'd say just stay away from that till you change case!

Could also cut a notch in the case to let the PCB stick out.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

You don't have to change the case for that. Just put a tiny piece of tape.

I am not changing a case because of that, just don't like s340 for airflow.

I have bent the bracket with my fingers and it doesn't seem like it's touching it any longer, using the card as we speak all good so far.

Thanks for all your help 🙂
