Computer stuck in a ON/OFF loop

So when I press the power button, the computer turns on for 8 seconds and shuts itself off. Then repeats.

Bios version v5.41

I know that this CPU is compatible with this motherboard because I was running it for the past week.

Specs :

C2D E7500

HD 4870

6 GB DDR2 (4 DIMMS, 2X2, 2X1)

Delta OEM 460W

Windows 7 Ultimate

2 HDDS in Raid 0.

What I've tried : changing out CPUs, booting with 1 DIMM, swapping PSUs

Did you do the RAID setup before or after this started happening?

mobo+CPU+RAM+VGA.  remove everything else.

 

let it boot and it should stall at a point where it looks for a boot device.

 

should help you narrow down your fault

 

make sure CPU and VGA power connectors are connected

disable all overclocks

Depending on the age of the mobo the cmos battery might be dead

I don't even know what I did, but it's working again. It boots to Windows fine with my backup GPU and backup PSU, so if something doesn't work, we'll see which one it is.

do you have any mem stick or other devises plugged in because that can cause boot loop

i had this boot loop issue before, it might sound stupid, but unplug all your usb devices and power it on, it worked for me.
