Trying to salvage this monitor Help

Hi guys... Any of you know whats wrong with this? I don't think the display itself is damaged because it still lights up and the pixel has color... Its just faded...

 

Is it possible to just remove the top layer? (I think its just an anti glare film thingy)

 

If so... Whats the best way to do it? Hobby knife? Or should I disassemble first?

To me it looks like a dying LCD not much you can do about it apart of getting replacement LCD panel(google the model for more info). If you want to mess with it I would recommend taking it apart first, be careful if the PSU is build in, even after disconnecting the cord from power there maybe left over current do not  touch it!
