GPU Suggestion

i have a system with i7 4790k and gtx 970

unfortunately my gpu has died and im looking for suggestions 

need a card for 1080p 60fps gaming

A 1660 will likely do the job in most games if you can get your hands on one.

I disagree. 1660s aren’t in stock and won’t be a big upgrade over the 970.

Well nothing is in stock where I am but he said his 970 was bust and needed a 1080p 60Fps gaming card and a 1660 works for that.

Yes but at that price something like a used 1070 can be found, or even a used 1070ti or 1080

Unfortunately this is probably the worst time in history to be buying a GPU. I saw an article a day or two ago with Nvidia mentioning they are moving volumes more then 2X what they did for the previous card launch. They also confirmed the stock problems don't appear to be entirely due to miners either.

 

My honest speculation is the scalping problem is actually worse then most people think it is. I think its going to stay this way until GPU manufacturers are finally able to flood the market with enough GPU's to saturate the scalpers inventory capacity. They are all ramping production though.

 

I'd get whatever is most affordable right now, I suspect the market will probably crash whenever that inventory issue finally tips and you'll be able to get an amazing deal on the top end stuff then.
