Mint Brainfreeze

So i just installed linux mint and ran into 1 problem. 
It takes a solid 10+ seconds after startup until the mouse and keyboard to detect.
Everything is fine.  I can see the desktop but the keyboard and mouse wont work until 10+ seconds.
anyone encountered this prob before?

Are you using X or Wayland? Are your specs particularly old?

 

 

Also while it isn't responding to keyboard or mouse movements. Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + f4. If it immediately or quickly switched to tty4 then the issue might be with the login manager.
