Then you're fine. B450 is the chipset (in the 400 series family) and for AMD only A-series boards cannot overclock but B and X series can.

I'm going to buy a gaming PC in a few moths. I want to overclock my CPU but I don't know if I can. I watched the techquickie episode that discusses this but I didn't find an useful answer. Linus said that I need B or X motherboard to overclock my CPU but my motherboard has an F in it and I don't know what that means. pleas help me I'm not good at computers

1) What CPU maker? (Intel/AMD)

2) What CPU model?

3) What motherboard are you looking at? Can you provide a model number?

One thing I do want to call out though is that if you're buying these parts in person make sure the box says 3000 series ready so it's got the BIOS to run a 3000 series CPU already OR if you're ordering it already made then they'll take care of this for you by updating the BIOS with another chip as needed 🙂
