CPU idle temperature

Hello

 

I have a problem with my ryzne 5 3600 i noticed at idle it goes around 60C and the clock peak is at 4.1mhz useing ryzen master but when i open task manager the peak clock goes down to 800mhz and the temp goes down to 40c immediately do i have a faulty sensor or is this a windows problem?

Try a little program called CoreTemp

See if it jives with what RM is seeing

It seems like there is an application running in the background which is triggered to stop when Task Manager is opened. Sounds like Malware to me.

Aren't there a few cryptomining malware programs that run when you system is "idle", but stop the moment you do anything? I thought I recall reading something about that

I just checked coretemp and 1 core is at 50% but when i open task manager it goes down to 0%. I dont know about malware i havent dowloaded anything exept steam and some games

Something is chewing on your CPU, perhaps it's Win10 in the background downloading updates, or something like that? Win10 does a lot of suspect stuff...

Windows is up to date i checked that first its best if i just reinstall windows just to be sure

It certainly does, but it doesn't stop doing those things when you open task-manager.

 

@Mita3003You might try using process explorer to discover your rogue application.
